The Club's new wooden gig, named Govenek, was built by Patrick Bird (son of Ralph).
There was a naming ceremony for Govenek, conducted by our very own Vicar, Chris Hardwick.  Many of the Club members, along with its builder, Patrick Bird, attended this very moving ceremony.
Govenek went on to become hugely instrumental in the Ladies A crew coming 14th in the Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing World Championships.
