About the club
Cotehele Quay Gig Club, a registered Charity, has crews to suit all from the most competitive to those who just want to enjoy an occasional recreational row down the beautiful River Tamar. We also have a Social Membership, for those wanting to enjoy the events organised by the Club without rowing.
We are fortunate to have the most beautiful location to base our club thanks to the National Trust, Cotehele Quay on the Cornish Bank of the River Tamar 9 miles upstream from the Saltash Bridge. We are the envy of many of the Gig Rowing Clubs, several of whom come to the location to row with us and enjoy the river.
This is where we train and row recreationally, the best gymnasium in the country and its always changing ... every row we see something different in the river and on the banks, including Seals and Kingfishers (there's even an elusive Otter).
We enter many competitive events in the CPGA calendar including the World Championships on the Scilly Isles and endeavour to enter crews at all levels.
There are several social events organised throughtout the year, to which the Social members are invited alongside the Competitive and Recreational members. These are designed for fun & to increase team spirit. They also help to raise funds for the Club & it's charitable causes.
Come and have a go and see if you enjoy it - taster sessions are free.
